The Trust has significant professional expertise amongst its Trustees.

Detailed profiles of the Trustees and Trust Manager are:

Gordon Duncan MCom (Hons), Dip Bus Stud, BDiv (Chair) is a senior management consultant with Farrow Jamieson Ltd, where he has been for 19 years, is a past Chair of the Board of Greenpeace NZ, been involved in a successful property development business and also Director of an IT start-up venture.

 

Murray Kerr, retired Pharmacist (Trustee) has considerable business experience. He ran a large retail pharmacy in Browns Bay for over 30 years. He is the Chairman of Medical Aid Abroad, Auckland, is also part of a music team at Long Bay Baptist Church and is a member of Rotary Browns Bay.

 

Anton Jacobs B.Com, B.Compt (Hons.) CTA, Advanced Certificate in Auditing (Trustee and Treasurer) is a qualified Chartered Accountant registered with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants and is currently employed as the Accountant at a private property management, investment and development company. Prior to his current role he spent over 6 years in public practice as an auditor of a large variety of private companies. Anton also has extensive pre-qualification experience in accounting roles in the mining industry and a property management company in South Africa.

 

Robyn Barry M. Soc.Sc (Hons) Psychology (Trustee and Relationship Manager) has purchased and managed family rental properties over the past 15 years. She served on the Board of Trustees for Wairau Valley Special School for 6 years. Robyn was raised in South Auckland, is currently working with Older Adults recovering from Mental Health issues and is studying at Auckland University for a PhD with a focus on older adults and their housing needs.

 

Alan Milne, B.Eng. (civil) and member of the Institute of Professional Engineers.  Alan started his own project management company in 1996 and has worked mainly in the school property sector  managing the design and construction of new school buildings but has also managed commercial apartment projects,  restaurant and shop fitout,  health & aged care projects and mainstreet landscaping projects.

 

Stephanie Attwater, Bachelor of Arts, majoring in English, has worked in publishing, on and off, for many years, first in books and then at the NZ Herald, but mainly for various magazines. She is currently a freelance sub-editor with a regular role at Taste magazine and has also recently been working at NZ Woman's Weekly and Your Home and Garden.

 

Chris Lloyd, Higher Diploma in Construction Management, has many years’ experience in the construction industry both in New Zealand and South Africa and is currently a senior site manager for a large construction company in Auckland.

 

Derek Smith BE(Hons)(Electrical), MSc(Control Eng), CPEng is a Chartered Professional Engineer with more than 40 years’ experience in engineering and project management, including financial management of heavy industrial projects. He is currently a company director and part owner of a small electronics business, and has been involved in several residential building projects. He has owned and managed rental properties and has been a trustee of another charitable trust.

 

Trust Manager:
Neil Binnie JP, MSc (Hons), Dip Stats, Dip Tchg (Trustee and Property Manager) was a Trustee from the formation of Bays Community Housing Trust and Property Manager for the Trust for the past 5 years.  This year he has relinquished his role as a Trustee to focus as Manager of the Trust on its management functions.  Professionally, Neil recently was a senior lecturer in Statistics at the Auckland University of Technology where he taught for 25 years.
